Doreen’s Story of email overload – how an organiser helped!

You may notice that if you email Doreen’ you’ll receive an automated response. Doreen had email overload (almost 1000 unread emails and several thousands more in her inbox), a disorganised desktop and was feeling overwhelmed and at a loss as to how to dig herself out of this quagmire.

She met Christie Flora at a Women’s health expo and asked her to do an email audit. Christie is the business owner of ‘Flor and Order’. She sat down with Doreen and helped her delete, sort and prioritise. Christie’s advice included dividing emails into folders categorised by year; scheduling  a time each week to go through these folders; unsubscribing from emails that no longer serve you, setting up an auto-message and consolidating time spent on reading and actioning emails appropriately.

It’s a work in progress but this session has helped Doreen enormously. Their next job is to start tackling organising the thousands of documents that have added up over the years.

Doreen felt supported, educated and somewhat relieved having clear strategies moving forward.

Yummy Breakfast Oats with Pear, Cinnamon and Crushed Nuts

Serves 1


  • ½ cup of rolled oats
  • ¾ cup of water or your preferred milk.
  • 1 scoop of Shake it, Thermophase Detox powder or your protein powder
  • ½ pear sliced
  • Crushed nuts (almonds, pecans, hazelnuts etc.)


  1. Combine the rolled oats and water or milk in a bowl and microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds, or stir on medium heat for 3-4 minutes
  2. If microwaving, remove from microwave and stir, then cook for 1 further minute.
  3. Add 1 scoop of Shake it or Thermophase powder
  4. Serve into bowls and top with pear slices, crushed nuts and any additional favourite toppings.
  5. Enjoy!

Recipe of the Month
Turkish Lentil Soup
Use only organically grown ingredients where possible

  • 1 large onion peeled and diced quite small
  • 1 large carrot peeled and diced into very small cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup red lentils
  • 1 tablespoon long grain rice
  • 1 large potato peeled and diced into small cubes
  • 5 cups filtered water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon dried cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes
  • 1 large lemon juiced
  • 1 large lemon cut into wedges
  • 1 handful parsley chopped
  1. In a large stock pot, saute the onion and carrot in the olive oil until soft.
  2. Add the lentils, rice, potato, water and a little salt and pepper. Bring to the boil and then simmer until the lentils and rice are cooked and the soup is thick.
  3. Stir in the cumin, butter and lemon juice with some of the parsley (leave the rest for sprinkling on top later).
  4. Check for seasoning, then serve in big bowls with extra chilli flakes, lemon wedges and chopped parsley.
