What Can Life Counselling Help with?
Life counselling has the potential to empower you to make, meet and exceed personal and professional goals. You may find yourself reaching new heights in the workplace, within your personal life and/or exploring lifelong ambitions. What is Life Counselling?
Life counselling focuses directly on identifying what you wish to achieve in the present and future, identify manageable goals and set tasks you can undertake to achieve those goals.
Past experiences and limiting belief patterns may contribute to your not achieving those goals, so your therapist may use a combination of tools including questioning, Hypnotherapy, NLP, Time-line therapy, and/or exercises to help you understand problem areas and identify ways to overcome them.
Rather than instructing (showing a person exactly what to do), you are guided to make these changes for yourself. Life counselling will provide you with tools to confidently face difficult situations and push past emotional barriers or blocks, simply by showing you how to use techniques based on core psychological principals.
At the heart of Life Counselling are personalised strategies to empower yourself, without the use of advice, opinions and judgment.
Understanding that everyone has a different perspective of the world, Life Counselling will teach you how to decide if your perspective may be restricting you from becoming who you want to be. It will teach you that anyone can open their minds if they want to.
What does a Life Counselling session involve?
Typically, your sessions will last between 45 minutes and 60. Sessions can be conducted face to face, via Skype, over the phone, and occasionally through instant messaging. In these sessions you’ll be asked a multitude of questions about where you’re at in certain areas of your life, and where you want to be. What you want to achieve from your sessions, and what exactly you’d like guidance with. You’ll be taught everything you need in order to reach your goals, but you won’t be forced to do anything you are not comfortable with.
For those who want to get to the core of their issues rapidly, you have the option to book for a 4 hour long “Break through” session with your Life Counsellor.
Our Life Counsellor uses Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), which is said to be one of the most effective self-help methods taught in modern psychology. Many Life Counsellors use and teach NLP techniques to help their clients “reprogram” their patterns of thinking and behaving.
